Guitar Petition

Gibson no longer produces any lefty Explorers, this is your chance to speak out... Lefty guitar players need to unite and let them know that we are part of the buying public!

UPDATE FROM THE LAST PETITION: I had contacted Gibson customer service with my petition containing 217 names of interested lefty's on March 1st, 2009. Their response was that the information would be forwarded to the appropriate parties, and thank you for your interest in left handed Explorers.

In the year following my contact, I have heard nothing back from them. Is it in the works? I guess we'll have to wait and see. The last time I contacted them they gave me a cold response saying there was no market for left-handed guitars and that it wasn't worth their effort to retool the machinery to produce lefty's.

So I guess the most recent response sounds like an improvement and is all we could ask for... I will keep everyone updated if anything changes.

I tried email contact one additional time with the petition names and data but recieved no response this time.

The Lefty Petition

Our website has more general info for left handed players. Read more info on lefty Explorers here. As for lefty guitar petitions, I decided not to start another one. Online reviews, website chatter, and social media may be the answer to our problem.

If execs at Gibson see enough pro-lefty comments posted online, maybe this will be enough to sway their decision to mass produce left handed Explorer guitars. I encourage you to sign our comment form here and voice your opinion.

I have posted an easy comment form so that guitarists can voice their thoughts. If you're not a member there, you should know that opening an account with them is as easy as submitting your email and a username. they are a online commenting service.

Anyways, thanks to those who signed the petition in the past and I'm looking forward to seeing your thoughts on the left hand Gibson Explorer posted here!
